I recently abandoned all my socials after Facebook and LinkedIn flagged some of my Yes, Misstrix content for violating their decency guidelines. It was time to go. Pearl clutching is fine and everything, but I prefer my social platforms to rise above. It’s not like I’m proffering porn. If the word “sex” spooks your algorithm, then I must gracefully make my exit. Old WASP morals really ruin all the fun.
Luckily, Substack isn’t a fucking prude. That’s right. The same platform that supports my weekly newsletter has come up with a lovely alternative to the standard socials. It’s called Notes, and it functions a lot like Twitter—without forcing you to endure the whims of an unhinged billionaire with an inferiority complex. Keep in mind that you can’t share your porn here either, but you can write the word sex without having to plop an asterisk over the “e” like a five year old whispering a dirty word.
Long story short, I published my first note on Substack Notes and would love for you to join me there!
Much like the platform formerly known for its bluebird logo, Notes allows participants to share links, short posts, quotes, photos and more. I plan to use it to share snippets of my work, shoot my mouth off about things that don’t fit neatly into the newsletter and to ask questions about the content readers find most pleasurable. Interested in joining me? See the instructions below to get started.
How to get down with Notes…
Head to substack.com/notes or find the “Notes” tab in the Substack app. As a subscriber to Yes, Misstrix, you’ll automatically see my notes. Feel free to like, reply or share them around!
You can also share notes of your own, which would only serve to bring us closer. What’s not to love about that? Ultimately, I envision Notes as a platform where Yes, Misstrix readers can share their uncensored thoughts, ideas, experiences and more. See you there. Muah!
